GaiZhuDong

GaiZhuDong, literally translated as "Bamboo Covered Grotto", is located 40 minutes outside of Linhai City, Zhejiang Province. Nestled at the Lion's Peak of the Mountain, GaiZhuDong sits 1,300 meters above sea level, where, on a misty day, the balcony of the complex overlooks a sea of rumbling white clouds. 

 

Religiously the temple has been classified as the Second Blissful Land and Nineteenth Heavenly-Grotto of Taoism. Preeminent Taoist Monks since the Three Kingdoms period have meditated and presided over this wonderland.  It is currently under the care of the Southern Quanzhen Sect of Taoism. 

 

This secluded Temple is literally, off the map. Without a proper tour guide, it is NOT recommended that you attempt to search for this location.
