This cultural immersion experience is for people curious about actual monastic and ascetic life. You will eat, sleep, and interact as if you are one of the Monks at the temple. The location is completely secluded from Urban areas and located atop a mountain. If you've seen Asian movies where there is a temple hidden in the wilderness, this is one of them. 

 

While there will be basic plumbing, shower, and electric services, there are no major western amenities. Additionally, all the monks speak exclusively Mandarin Chinese. This is an opportunity to stretch yourself beyond your comfort zone - mentally, physically, and perhaps spiritually.

 

The Program runs in 30 to 35 day cycles during the entire months of November, March, or April. Fees range from $650 to $750 per person, depending on cohort size. Each cohort is at least 4 people but no more than 8. You are responsible for your own Visa application, but you will be issued an invitation letter to help expedite it.
